10 Points!!! How long will it take for my brother to immigrate to the U.S

10 Points!!! How long will it take for my brother to immigrate to the U.S?
my brother lives in Yemen (south of saudi arabia, and west of Oman) and I was born there but want to bring him into the U.S to live and work. I've been a citizen for 14 years (naturalized) My husband brought me in from Yemen into the U.S. How Many years will it take to get my brother into the U.S. Thanks

It depends based on the country and your brother's age. If he is young it will be faster if you can prove he will depend on you for care. It would be faster to bring him here if he was your son. Example: It would take my friend almost 10 years to bring a sister to the US from Morocco. It would take 7 years if their father applied for her to come over here from Morocco. It is only takes 1 year for a fiance to come from Egypt, but 2 or more if you are already married. It could take a while to bring him here if he is older and you just want him to have a better life. I'm sorry to say it but the fact that the economy is bad here and we have so many people out of work (despite that it is probably better here than in Yemen) the INS will not work faster to get him here like they would if he was a fiance' to an American and they were going to begin their lives together. You should consult an attorney who specializes in Immigration and plan to spend $5k - $8k. You also have to prove that you can financially support your brother once he is here.

Well, it all depends on what kind of mode of emigration he`ll be using, if he uses a plane, it will be about 10 hours, if by rowboat, it will be about several months,..if he`ll be swimming from Yeahman to U.S. it will take him couple of years....My 10 points please.

if you are going to file for him, it will take about 11 years from the time you file before he can enter the US, no matter what his age is. So, unless your parents are also now in the US, which you don't mention, that's about the only thing you can do directly.
