Hey what part of the cow doe the following cuts of meat come from?
I want to make a chinese dish: beef and brocolli, what part of the cow does that meat come from. secondly i want to make a philadelphia cheesteak and i need to know what part of the cow is that from. lastly i want to know what part of the cow does bacon come form. im asking this question because i live in yemen and they dont have prepackages meat like in america. so i have to go to the butcher and tell him which parts i want. thanx in advance and helpful responses only

Bacon... comes from a pig. It's pork belly. Beef broccoli... Beef can come from any part of the cow. My recommendation is to use a tender cut of beef steak, even tenderloin would be good (also ribeye or a loin cut)... same with the philly cheesestake. You can use a tougher cut - chuck roast or a shoulder roast, if you slice very thinkly.

Beef and Broccoli, The cut of meat is probably rump Cheesesteak, Maybe Ribeye, anyway that what I would use Bacon, comes from pig but the butcher might have that as well

most chinese restaurants use flank steak, which, as the name implies comes from the backside. that would work fine in a philly also but most places use ribeye.
